For my project I created a goat out of copper wire and latex gloves. I chose to create something out of items that usually go to the trash. I wanted to show everyone that you can create art with mainly anything. Now more than ever I am concerned about latex gloves, due to the pandemic the production numbers have increased dramatically. I could only imagine the number of gloves that will end up in our oceans, so I decided to create something with them instead of throwing them away. I also decided to use copper wire just because we had some at our house and I just didn’t want to throw it away. My three media choices were paint, paper for origami, and copper wire. The reason I chose copper wire and the latex gloves was because I wanted to show this message of pollution and how you can create art with items that you usually throw away. Also because I have always wanted to create something with copper wire before, and now was my chance to finally do it. It would be different from just painting it and creating it with paper because like this, it actually shows the product being used, and the whole idea that you can create something with these items. I love how it came out, it was sort of difficult to create but at the end it came out perfect. I do think the piece conveys the idea I initially had, instead of throwing away these items I created a cool piece of art. In the future I would like to create and experiment more with copper wire, it was a really fun activity.
